Gifted Services
Our School
At the elementary level, we provide gifted services in the content areas of English language arts and math. In addition, sixth-graders may also qualify for advanced science and social studies.
Meet Our Gifted Intervention Specialist
Our GIS partners with our classroom teachers to provide training and strategies for differentiating our gifted students' learning in their identified areas.
Erin Maddox
Erin is finishing her 17th year of teaching with 11 of those years in Lakota and 6 years were spent as the GIS at Heritage and Cherokee Elementary Schools. For the past 3 years she has been teaching 5th grade Math and Math Plus at Cherokee. Erin is pictured with her family. Her daughter, Delaney, is finishing 3rd grade at Cherokee this year and her son, Luke, is finishing his 1st grade year at Heritage. Erin is thrilled to return to her work with our gifted identified students at the buildings where she is so connected to the families and communities.
About Gifted Services
The Gifted Services Pages are Under Construction.
We are currently updating district policy and guidelines to remain in alignment with state requirements for gifted education and to ensure that we continue providing the very best services for your children. Our gifted website will be updated to reflect these changes as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to strengthen our commitment to supporting students and families. Please reach out to your gifted intervention specialist or our director of gifted services if you have any questions.
