Cheetah Mail - Weekly Update 9.26.25

Dear Cherokee Families,

What a wonderful week it has been at Cherokee! I want to take a moment to celebrate some of the highlights and share a few upcoming opportunities for our students and families.

First, a huge thank you to our 6th grade staff and the parent chaperones who joined us at Camp Kern. Our students had an amazing experience at camp filled with learning, teamwork, and memories that will last a lifetime! We are so grateful for the dedication and support that made this trip such a success.

This evening, we are excited for Future Firebird Night—a special opportunity for our students and families to connect with our district community. We'd love to have lots of Cheetahs join us to parade around the football field! See the Parent Square for further details. Don't forget to wear our new blue Cherokee Cheetah spirit wear donated from our PTA!

Please see the important announcement below about your completion of Final Forms! Thank you to the families who completed these right away as these are extremely important in case of an emergency or being able to go on a Field Trip, etc. We have at least 25 families who still need to complete them.  Also, if you haven't signed up for Parent Square, that is one of our main communication methods.  Please be sure to download the app and see further information below.

A few reminders for the week ahead:

• 🚌Reach Out Lakota’s Stuff the Bus and Spirit Days begin next week on Monday, September 29th.  See Spirit Day Schedule Below! Our school is proud to participate in supporting local families through this important outreach.

• 📸Fall Picture Day will take place on Tuesday, September 30th. Please help your child come prepared and ready to smile. Note some picture day changes in the announcement below regarding payment.

• 📚Fall Book Fair begins next Friday!! Be looking for communication about that soon.

As always, our AP, Mr. Stapleton, the Cherokee staff, and I appreciate your continued partnership in making Cherokee such a strong and caring school community!  If you have any questions, concerns or good news to pass on please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We love to hear from you!

With gratitude,

Valerie Montgomery, Principal
