Happy Friday, Cherokee Families!
We wrapped up a wonderful (and slightly shorter!) week at school thanks to the Presidents’ Day holiday. Even with one less day together, our students packed in plenty of learning - and we certainly enjoyed the sneak peek of spring weather that came along with it! Sunshine and smiling faces made for a great week at Cherokee.
We also wrapped up an incredible Random Acts of Kindness Spirit Week, and Cherokee truly showed up! Our students and staff intentionally spread *extra* positivity all week long. Compliments were shared, helping hands were offered, and heartfelt thank-you notes were delivered. It has been a beautiful reminder that even small acts of kindness can make a big impact.
And now… we are gearing up for one of our most exciting days of the year - Cherokee’s Celebration of Cultures Day on Friday, February 27th! 🌎✨
This special day is all about honoring the rich cultures, traditions, and backgrounds that make our Cherokee community so special and unique. Here’s a glimpse of what’s in store for our students next Friday:
- A dynamic cultural performance, “Indian Culture Comes to You,” presented by the Cultural Centre of India.
- A schoolwide “Tour the World” experience as classes visit country-themed classroom doors.
- Hands-on cultural arts and crafts at each grade level, generously supported by our PTA.
- Additional classroom activities like “Where in the World is Tecna?” and our Cherokee Cultural Slideshow.
It’s going to be a vibrant, engaging, and joy-filled day of learning and celebration. To add to the fun, students are invited to wear traditional or cultural clothing representing their country or heritage and will have the opportunity to appear on CTV! I can’t wait to see our halls filled with color, creativity, and cultural pride!
