Cheetah Mail - Weekly Update 12.19.25

Hi Cherokee Families,

What a joyful and memorable week it has been at Cherokee! Even with a snow day on Monday, our short week was absolutely packed with fun, laughter, and holiday cheer. From festive caroler guests to thoughtful PTA surprises that brought smiles to staff and students alike, there was no shortage of special moments.

We even had a surprise visit from our very own principal elf, Snowflake, spreading extra cheer and a bit of magic throughout the building. These moments of celebration truly captured the spirit of the season and made this week one to remember. Be sure to check out the photos below to catch a glimpse of all the fun!

As a reminder, all Lakota Schools be closed for Winter Break Monday, December 22nd - Monday, January 5thSchool resumes on Tuesday, January 6th.

As we wrap up our second quarter and head into the break, I want to thank our incredible students, families, staff, and the Cherokee community for your continued support, kindness, and partnership. We are so grateful for each of you. Wishing your family a restful, joyful holiday season filled with warmth and special moments. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the new year!

From the District...

Erin's Law requires that all public schools implement a prevention-oriented child sexual abuse program. This important initiative aims to educate students on personal body safety and help them understand how to recognize and report any inappropriate behavior.

For the SY25-26 school year, our Erin's Law programming will be delivered as follows:

  • 3-6 Students: The program will also be delivered by the school counselor specific to each building. The content is tailored to meet the developmental needs of these age groups.

We understand that some families may have questions or concerns regarding this program. We encourage you to reach out to us if you need further information or if you wish to discuss any aspect of the curriculum.

For families who prefer to opt out of Erin's Law programming, we have provided an opt-out form. This form can be accessed via the link included in this letter and is also available on our school website.

Legislative Lessons Opt-Out
