Happy Summer Break to all of our Cheetahs and their families!!
Cherokee Families,
Cheetah Mail is coming to you one day early, as one of our favorite days of the year, Field Day, is tomorrow!! Please be sure that your child wears their classroom color shirt (and can wear it inside out for our Awareness Week Spirit Day, ADHD and Learning Disability Awareness). Also, we expect lots of sunshine, so please apply sunscreen to your child Friday a.m.. In addition, students may wear hats and sunglasses and bring a water bottle. Make sure all items are labeled with their name.

On Friday, March 14th join Lakota LEADS and the Lakota community to celebrate Pi Day the best way we know how – with awesome hands-on STEAM activities! Come see what our many exhibitors have in store for you. They are waiting to share their love of math and science with you!
Lots of exhibitors and lots of hands-on fun! Join Lakota LEADS for a full evening of fun at this year's Pi Day happening March 14 from 6:30 - 9 p.m. at Plains Junior School. There will be many STEAM based hands-on activities that will entertain your K-8 students!
Gifted Resource Fair will be held on Saturday, March 8th from 9am - 12:30pm at the Hamilton County Educational Services Center, at 11083 Hamilton Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45231
Lakota Gifted Services provides second opportunity testing to meet the cognitive score requirement.

DI Program Information and Q&A Meetings:

In addition to the supplies provided by your school, students in grades K-8 are asked to provide a few additional items before the first day of school. Use TeacherLists, a free new resource, to easily find your list and even shop online for the best prices on all your back-to-school supplies, if desired. High school students will continue to receive supply lists from their teachers when school starts.
Gifted Services is accepting applications for Early Entrance into Kindergarten and 1st grade for the 2024-25 school year until Friday, June 14. Any applications received after this date will not be considered before the start off the school year.
Cherokee Elementary is part of a small group of Lakota schools piloting a new, more unified school-to-home communication tool called ParentSquare. Beginning Monday, April 22, ParentSquare will replace our current notification system for sending email, phone and text alerts to our families and staff.
No action will be required to continue receiving communications, but be on the lookout for an invite to log into your account via OneLogin to customize your communications experience and get the most out of ParentSquare.
Walking into Julie Egbers’ STEAM classroom, you could hear sixth-graders playing over a dozen keyboard renditions of "London Bridge is Falling Down" and "Mary Had a Little Lamb."
But there were no keyboards in sight.
